It was at the end of 2018 that the artist Mac Miller passed away, leaving the urban music industry and his many fans in mourning. The album "Swimming" had been released a few months earlier.
Five years after this tragedy, the company in charge of Mac Miller's rights and Vans have teamed up for a unique collaboration, celebrating the fifth anniversary of the album "Swimming".
Crafted with black canvas uppers, the front of both shoes in the pair feature the Yin-Yang motif that ties in with the album "Swimming" as well as the posthumously released album "Circles."
The phrase "Swimming by Mac Miller" surrounds the pair. Additional details are added such as the phrase "Mac Miller 1992 Til ∞" stamped around the white vulcanized midsole. The traditional branding is present as usual on the red heel patch.
The Vans label is located in the stitching on the side of the pair. The pair is completed with a waffle outsole and simple white laces.
A special pink-purple gradient box was made for the occasion.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of the pair will be donated to the Mac Miller Fund, which provides young musicians with resources to help them realize and express their full potential.
The Mac Miller x Vans Authentic “Swimming” is set to release on August 3 via the official Mac Miller webstore.
