Official images of the ASICS GEL-1130 and GEL-NYC in a "Kale Green" colorway featuring an updated design and style have recently surfaced.
The new colorways and essential elements of the new designs, and more specifically that of the GEL-1130, were unveiled in early August by Marc Marquez, head of marketing at ASICS Sportstyle and responsible for the concept of these two pairs as well as the originator of the "Kale Green" colorway.
As Marc Marquez put it then, both of these models in the "Kale Green" colorway, feature flat cream laces - a design element specifically selected to offer a more casual look, as opposed to the traditional running laces that equip regular pairs.
When it came to the color choice, the designer said he particularly liked how the green hues worked with the various metallic accents of the GEL-1130 and GEL-NYC.
Other design details caught the eye of sneakerheads. A cream-colored open mesh as the base layer of the upper as well as embroidered “Kale Green” logos on the tongues of the GEL-NYC and rubberized “Kale Green” logos on the GEL-1130.
Both silhouettes sit atop white midsoles that feature “Kale Green” accents and cream-colored outsoles.
Both pairs are expected to launch via ASICS' official website on September 23, with the GEL-1130 retailing for $95 and the GEL-NYC retailing for $130.
